Scores are low because the players are getting better and more of them, plus you have to admit that this is not one of the more difficult courses on WGT based on low winds an fairly generous tees here.
I expect that once it becomes single play and the winds pick up and the green speed changes each round, the scoring will go up. I do wish that WGT would stage the Open with a larger spread for qualifying. Today it ranges from 51 to 55, it probably should go from 51 to 60 and then have a cut after round two, those who make the cut get the WGT credits and compete for the title.
Cut could be players within 10 of the lead or low 72 scores and ties, pretty much anything they want. Oh well, maybe next year.
