I have noticed that a skins game continues even if we are, e.g., on the 7th hole (of 9) and one player already has 6 skins. It is, in other words, impossible for anyone but the leading player to win. To continue the game seems totally meaningless (unless it is assumed that most people play purely for fun). So why doesn't the game end when there is a clear winner (like in alternate shot or match play)?

    Hi handmaiden,

Skins games don't end after a player has the majority of the skins due to the player losing still has a chance of winning the remaining skins. For example for a 9 hole round at 10 CR a Skin, if you had won 7 skins, I would still have a chance of winning the 2 remaining skins, 20 credits. I would still lose but just not as many credits as if I had lost all 9 holes.

    Hope this helps explains things,

    All the Best,

What if you're not playing for credits (practice)?

    Hi handmaiden,

Since the regular format is for credits the practice set up follows the same rules, so the game is continued until the end. You might want to give Match Play a try, it might be more of the game style you are looking for. =)
