Played this hole yesterday and something didn't add up! 345 - 260 doesn't equal 128 (unless things have changed since I did maths at school.)

Didn't have much impact on the game but thought you might like to know...

IRL hole distances are marked down the center of the fairway, not the most direct route which your drive and new hole distance are calculated by!

Ya but shouldn't his direct route cause a decrease in total distance? Also hole 10 at SA said 330 yrds, I hit it 326 and it went 5 yrds past hole so that one's wrong too.

But if you can't play the direct route because of a fairly large dogleg the distance to the hole will be much larger than the direct route.

let's see 326+5 = 331  that's only 1 yard difference and on the green the 1 yard might actually less than 3 feet. How often have we seen it say 1 yard and have less than 2 feet to the hole.

I appreciate the difference between going centre of the fairway or by some other route but if you peer closely at the picture I have gone pretty much straight up the fairway... and a difference of 40 metres is more than that would account for (I think).

I think I had the same problem as borntobesting at SA Hole 10, drove past the green when I shouldn't have been able to reach it according to the distance given.

I wouldn't mind seeing diagrams of how the hole distance are measured - more out of curiosity than anything else
