I would like to see a top level set of irons with a great forgiveness rating. Early on I picked up the Ping i25 club set almost by happenstance. It happens to have the highest rated forgiveness in the game, but very low precision. I did well with that set for quite awhile because I learned how to shape shots using the forgiveness to off-ding in such a way that would allow me to curl shots into the pin without losing much in the way of distance. All of the top tier irons have nothing in the way of forgiveness. They have very high precision ratings, but are lacking in forgiveness. So, now I have the Nike VR Forged set. If I try to shape shots the way I once did I find that I'm losing 10, 20, 30 yards in distance. Now, those clubs always come up short of their advertised distance, but trying to off-ding cuts and fades into the greens leaves them coming up ridiculously short. I feel that a set with higher forgiveness, but still the precision and distance, would be a welcome addition to the irons.
