  Welcome to the game, as frustrating as it can be, it is a great game.

  My advice is to just keep playing, take notes (either mental or written) play all the shots and most of all, have fun.

  Do not stress about equipment unless you have credits to burn, as the lower level equipment will not last as you tier up.

  Read the forums (and search) as there is a ton of great information in here.
