Why are people living in Spain not eligible for prizes in the Open. We can play Poker ,Bingo, Bet on Football and Horse Racing in Spain. We gain credits in the weekly comps or Monthly Comps run by WGT so why not the big Comps. The weekly and Monthly comps run by WGT are free just the same as the Open. You just paid me credits for Wk22. This surely is a double Standard. We can enter the Comps we have to pay to enter and get paid credit's for finishing at the top. So why are we Not ELIGIBLE for the OPEN. guapa

Local laws or "discretion of the company" - see the T&Cs or tournament CCs.

Probably has everything to do with which country gets the tax money off the winnings ... if they can't come to terms, that country is out. That's my best guess ...

After, of course, if said foreign country doesn't have any laws against winning foreign prizes obtained by skill based gaming. Or laws against winning any prize by skill based gaming period.

The sponsor may have a say, too.

    Edit:

The residential limitations are severe, as there are only nine countries mentionend in the CCs:

    2. Eligibility.

Participation in the Contest is open to individuals who are 18 years of age or older.  Note, however, that only individuals who are legal residents of and physically located in the fifty United States and the District of Columbia, Canada (excluding Quebec), the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Norway, Ireland, The Netherlands, and South Korea who are 18 years of age or older or the age of majority in the entrant's state or province/territory ("province") of residence, whichever is greater are eligible to win prizes.

This limitation is on purpose, but I'm afraid that we won't get the reasons from the Hold-your-Tongue tribe of Bay Area.

Is it realistic to expect a business to give out info they might consider proprietary?

And is it reasonable to expect WGT to answer every query posted in the forums?

Name some other companies you use that would state their reasons, and that maintain a level of customer communication you suggest WGT should have.

No, and I didn't express to expect it. It was a matter-of-fact statement.

Alas, I'd expect a question mark after a question ;)

No, and I know of their policy to give most answers only once.

Alas, there are some questions which are never answered because this might be uncomfortable for the company. You, too, fall into silence sometimes, apparently to protect them ;)

Yes it is reasonable to expect a response. The same as I respond to questions regarding my Companys Policies.  The whole point is they pay out credits to me for certain competitions but I am not eli gible for the Qualifying comp for the the open. It doesn't take much to answer. gaupa.
