  The distance in the moves is exactly what I was after and your first post was extremely helpful, however your second one & Mo's wasn't!

  I tried to devide the moves against the distance that they quote for each increment (using Standard Green speed) but some of them didn't quite gel as I came up with 12.5 feet on the 90` setting but when I tried it out it seemed way off the mark! (more like 14 or 15`)...........and why would they make the first two the same......seems a little silly to me!

  The redwood on the 15 foot scale has 3 avatar movements, the first two 6 feet each and the last 3 feet of course. The 45 foot scale has five 9 feet movements. The 150 foot sclale has ten 15 feet movements. I don't use the 90 foot scale myself so I can't comment on that one.  This is based on fast green speed, which for me is normal green speed. Standard I consider to be just a tad quicker than slow green speed, and I would add a lilttle power to my putts on standard greens. If I had a 12 foot putt on standard I would hit it like 14 feet. Hope it helps a little, works for me but what do I know.

  What do you use for a 16 ft putt? You could use 2 moves on the 30 ft scale, all of the 15 ft scale or 1 move on the 90. This is the gist of the putting by avatar move method. What makes it work for me is the 1 move on the 90 scale is about 1/2" on the meter whereas the 2 moves on the 30 scale is almost twice that-more time for the meter to jerk. 

  One thing I should point out and Bollux was the one that clued me to this. The deviation factor when using the higher scales for shorter putts is exaggerated. Be careful.

  Thanks for your very informative replies both Golfspieler & Jim you have been a very big help. Yes, lots of practice seems to be required to get these distances down pat but with the info you have both offered this will help tremendously.

   I use the 45 foot scale for 16 feet putts, that would be just under 2 avatar movements. The 15 foot scale would be a tad short unless on tourny greens. I really like the 45 foot scale, but it's all personal preference an what you feel comfortable with.   I use the largest scale I can as it keeps meter slider close to the ding mark. Say you have a 18ft. putt and your 150 scale is .about 18.5ft /VF. green...one avatar movement... now all you got to do is hit the ding......this is of coarse on a VF green.
