I was playing recently on Chambers Bay.  On the back nine, the 15th I believe, anyway the par 3 where the green is 60 ft. below the tee box.  The distance shown is 232yd.  So I chose a 4i rated avg. distance of 205.  Took a little something off it, hit the ding, and BAM it flew at least 90 yards over the green until it registered out of bounds.  So I guess that wasn't a 4i. What happens is that from time to time, not every time, when I scroll over the clubs without clicking on anything, something random will select.  For instance, I was setting up for a flop shot, selected a wedge, scrolled over to set spin and looked back and the display said "putter 150ft.  FLOP".  What happens if I take that shot as listed?  You can't flop with a putter!  So I reset for the wedge.  But it does this at least three times per round, the unintended club selection.  And it's usually something that makes no sense, like a driver in the bunker or the flop putter. And the example listed previously, where it must have selected a 3w or driver and forced an OOB shot.  I guess that is good for WGT.  Make people shoot unintentionally into the water or OOB from a bug and they will need to spend more money on balls.  I find it annoying, but I usually catch it.  This time it cost me a ball though, and I hate losing balls to bugs.

It is probably not a bug. You probably changed it by mistake by hitting the scroll wheel. The scroll wheel will change both club and or putter scales when you are on the green. It has happened to us all at one time or another. Just last week in a CC tourney I hit a drive on one of the par 4's with my 64 degree wedge. Luckily for me it landed on one of the baby tees and was able to hit a full driver for my second shot and was able to save par.
