I'll definitely keep the 8 degree version, it's a great driver in its own right, and it'll be nice to have a choice between 8 and 9 degrees depending on course and conditions.
OK , I hear this bull_shit a lot.
Where and when would u choose one driver in preference to the other.
You have a nice choice of courses so lets be specific.
I have never bothered thus far, but if I did the current Old Tom Andys F9 would be an ideal choice, IMHO.
#10 with a TW that extra couple of yards just might sneak you a putt. The R1 I sneak pitches, and probably just as much chance with the R1 overall 99.999% :)
#12 - Now a 7MPH HW I can basically stick it with the R1. Not tried but pretty sure the higher trajectory version would allow a bit more latitude in going for the actual green. The round I got my 25 on though pretty sure I had to run it a little with the R1 anyway.
That drivable par 4 at Oly B9 - would the new one get you up there at a sensible distance away a tad more often??
The R1 I have never ran out of fways, and so never looked past it so far. Would take a free rental for me to even consider adding the new 1. Also I would probably end up just staying with what I have as my chances of remembering / being bothered to swap clubs are remote, and the R1 is still a fine instrument that is still preferred plenty of times, IMO..
