if you're one of the many that suffers from an irregular meter, it can be a backward step

it's too many credits down the drain on a putter that i'm worse with outside 12ft compared to my Daytona.

don't get me wrong, inside 12ft it's fantastic and i much prefer the distance steps, but i've never been so wide on long putts using this. just no chance of holing unless you ding it.

such a shame, i was really looking forward to getting this. i'll give it a go again when i run out of balls and go onto the G-13's, maybe it'll turn into the weapon i was expecting :)

I use the level 72 redwood with either the Tour-SD ball or the Tour GI-S ball and have no problem with the meter being unstable. The only problem i have with it is the same problem I had with all the other putters. The inability to read the greens as well as I should. Hit the ding or even a near ding if you read the green correctly and this putter is deadly accurate.

Yes it is. What it isn't is good for the missing method. Missing to aim worked pretty good with the junior Redwood but doing that with this one is very different. It's like you have to miss way more to get the same result and then deviation and distance irregularities come into play.

If you like to aim by missing this putter will disappoint you. If you do as BTB says you will rock.

yeah, don't get me wrong green reading on this game is my weak point. it's just that the extra precision seems to take the misread even further away from the hole than with the Daytona.

little meter stutters just make it worse, that nearly ding seems to be 7-10 inches wide even on a flat putt.

if it wasn't for the fact it costs so much i wouldn't even mention it, just thought i'd give my opinion to maybe hire it before commiting :)

    What's the Ghost like?

With the exact same specs as the Master Redwood you would think something's fishy. Why would it take 84 levels to get a putter basically available at 72? I think it's an intangible such as the 2 Satin master wedges have. Those 2 wedges are not as affected by rough as the rest but they have the same specs. What's up with that? Same with the putter. I had to see for myself. Besides, putting is this game, IMO, and mine is keeping me out of RG$ and the Legend tier.

In a nutshell, it improved my putting but not immediately. I spent about 2 hours mapping it on all the green speeds, including Tournament (thanks to a +36 on the weekly 18) and came away with a decent idea of the distances. I've been playing RG 9s on every green speed and the values work.

What has changed is the Ghost seems to roll truer and smoother. I think this is because it doesn't deviate as much as the Redwood (that could be that intangible.)The ding is as necessary as with the Master Redwood if you want the accuracy. And yes, it is extremely accurate. If you tend to miss close on the correct side of the break the Ghost seems to forgive a little more than the Redwood. Very little but noticeable. I did not trust this at first and I 3 putted more greens in 2 hours than I have in a year. LOL

The Ghost is not a game changer if you do well with the Redwoods or the Daytona. With any other putter it will change your game but you need to commit to learning it. It sucks right out of the box but after 20-30 rounds it starts to show it's worth. I'm keeping it.

I hired this L72 redwood last week and had the same results as when i hired the daytona, i.e. impossible (for me)  to use.

The speed is fast, but that isn't the problem, (i can cope fine with the driver and irons, even with starter balls) the jumpy, stuttering all the way down, is.

I appreciate that it must work for most, a look at the bags of the better players tells me this.

p.s. I cleared the cache etc etc. and tried it with one dot and two dot feel balls, all to no avail.

    IMHO only!

Unless a player can hit the ding exactly or at least intentionally miss exactly, then only luck or forgiveness like perhaps the Spider may have is getting that ball into the hole.

Precision means the ball goes where you aim it IF you hit the ding!

Like many, I love to try out the latest and greatest new toys as they come out but whether or not they improve my game is very debatable.
