EDIT: Thanks to TheAceFactor
You're learning...I suspect the way WGT makes most of there money (besides advertising) is selling new guys their first or second set of clubs along with the premium balls some feel are needed to level up. After that, and if they are still around, players can earn enough to break even or maybe buy a club or two depending on how well they play. IMHO, its the guys that play until their fingers bleed that win most, if not all of the prizes. As for me, I enjoy playing this game and try not to become obsessed with it. If it was about the money I would have been gone a long time ago. In the end, its up to you, but at least make your decision knowing the ropes.
As to your winnings...If you don't win, you'll split the winnings with all the players you are tied with. In your case, you tied for 18th with 58 other
players so there wasn't much left after that. Another thing to be aware of, there is never much of a
purse in the Weekly tournaments...in fact, the winner of WK 52 9-hole
unlimited only got 18 180 ($1.80) credits. Hardly enough to play for the a weeks worth of balls.
