Have anyone noticed that if you play in this tournament that WGT does not pick competing clubs of equal standing. I have just requested a competitive match. My club is made up of 85 members where the best player is currently a Master. We are a clun of new starters in the main trying to develop players. The club selected to play against has 7 Legends and 15 Tour Masters. So how is the selection process carried out my only thought is by size of club. Ability is not used. Come on WGT make things fairer, average out the player ability, do not just give those clubs with the better players even more points. Why create tournaments that clubs can never win, golf has a handicap system to even out players ability, its about time WGT looked for something like that to help those at the earlier stage of their membership so as to encourage them to remain, and of course spend more money, rather than just quit WGT for good

Well said Edgey, but you must remember most of the Elite (master and up) get their jolly's in beating on the newcomer rather than take any measure to make it competitive and would rather sell his ego inflated soul do the underworld than encourage their development (first hand experience on that one). As well they are the Alpha's and would rather eat your young. Hope all is going well in your club despite this. I also read their will be changes to the scoring in the near future when I comes to Clashes.

Keep your balls dry and have fun out  there

The complaint could go the other way too. You don't want to clash with a CC that is not at a similar level, whether higher or lower. My last couple of CC clashes were against 0-3 teams that didn't even play one match. Essentially an automatic win if you get one point. Not really fun at all.

I'm pretty sure the formula for matchmaking has more to do with the CC level than the member levels, as my CC (level 4) generally clashes between CCs from levels 5-8.

SamBigE, please don't let a few bad experiences cloud your perceptions on the entire Masters-and-up crowd. Most players I've encountered are generally pretty nice.

Well Dynasty you are very lucky we were put against Majestic Mountain, look them up and see what they have in their armoury. We were slaughtered. All I am saying is that in golf there is a handicap system that means those who are not so good can compete with those who are at the top of their ability. WGT Clashes dont  do this.

We were also put up against Wind Team they are only at level 5 but look them up and see what level of players they have. I understand players take it in turns to create a new team they all then leave the old team and join the new one. The playing levels are at the top of the tree, why do that well to win more competitions thats what its all about for some teams.

If Hacks were worth one point and Amateurs 2 points going up one point a level, the total points for a club could be calculated devided by the players to set an average ability. Small clubs like yours would benefit from this, I mean Majestic Mountain earned 80000+ points in the last clash thats a third of the way to your next level, we earned 2600 and most of them was because we played a club in New Zealand where it was the middle of the night there, so no one even new that they had a clash on until it was finished.

I agree that the matchmaking system can use some improvements. But that's on WGT. The individual players or CCs can't control who they're playing.

I don't have the belief that my tiny CC will ever compete in the overall points standings, and I can't fault other CCs for doing what it takes to win. They're able to organize large groups of people to play well for them. For that, they should be rewarded.

I do think the reward system also could use some work. I mean, country club passes and pumpkin flags/markers aren't really enticing. Either way, it should still be based on performance.

Either way, I'm just playing for fun and enjoying myself with my tiny CC. After CC Level 4, none of the rewards are really that good anyway.
