It used to be that you had to close out the application at least 5 times and restart due to the swing meter being erratic. Now it is at least15 times for an 18 hole game. This game has become unviable. I am not a big customer, only spending about $50/month, but don't have time for this game anymore.

    This is the WGT response:

The meter performance is affected by a multitude of variables and affects every player differently due to their location, internet service provider, computer, what is installed on the computer and the settings on the computer/ browser. We are working on several solutions which will make the meter more consistent or perform smoother in more conditions but we do not have a simple or catchall solution that we can release. We do and will continue to seek solutions.

But to be clear WGT does not have any control to vary the meters performance by time, type of game, round or stroke. We cannot target an individual nor a specific stroke.

If the meter is performing better or worse at a particular moment it is probably due to congestion between the server and your machine or the current CPU and RAM utilization on your computer.  We have found that most of the issues have to do with the amount of RAM you have and the CPU performance of your system. Running streaming music/video, itunes, anti virus scans, etc...   will noticeably degrade the performance of the meter.

This being said we are actively investigating ways to improve the meter.

Personally, I think it's a cop out.   I've easily lost over a dozen balls due to meter related issues, and thus, I decided I would not contribute any more money into this game until it gets fixed.   Every time before coming on to play a game, I reboot and delete everything that might be taking up resources, but when you play 4-5 holes with no issues, then on the very next hole, the meter goes all "whacky", something else is behind it.  IMHO

I can't tell you how many times I started a tournament and quit after 2-3 holes because the meter was SO bad that the shots were just uncontrollable.   Today, for an example, played well for the first 3 holes, the next was a bogie because I clicked and the meter continued to move, followed by another where the stutter was so bad you could only guess when to click.   Thus, another withdrawn game.   Hard to imagine the game can run smooth for a few holes, then become totally unplayable.   Not sure the mechanics of the game, but seems like every hole played goes into the cache and reduces resources, thus the more you play, the worse it gets???
