  I just can't seem to do these closest tth contest. Always have couple "off the wall" shots that seem to ruin it. Some is me, but a lot is the dern jerky meter problem that seems to plaque this game. Yea, Yea, I know it's the browser, or the video card, or the computer speed, etc, etc.,etc! Why don't we call it what it is ------------ a clitch that WGT doesn't seem to care enough about to fix!!! (Steemed!)

  Sure it might seem silly, but take a practice swing first.  It's just a game so it's not like a couple extra seconds is going to ruin your day.  But by letting it run through once, you know all the data is loaded and you have a much better chance of being glitch free.

  Taking a practice swing actually creates more stress on your CPU.  Open your CPU monitor, take a swing, and see for yourself.  Biggest thing most can do is take a long pause at top of swing to let CPU settle, just wish it still worked for me.  :)

  That said, I don't even bother with CTTH anymore.  I used to love it and had some fun back and forth leads with Tibbets back in the day but now I'm lucky to make 4 swings without a freeze.

  Hi Jake;

  This may be of help to you.  After you finish aiming and adjusting spin, take 5 count.  When you start swing, (ie holding the mouse button down, pause for a 1 count), then complete your swing.

  Wait for the below animations to settle-down before making a swing on every type of shot. Drive, approach, etc., etc. Waiting to long to take a shot after the club name changes (which happens first) will result in another meter stutter from the white ring that animates from the (blue dot) ball location indicator, which occurs every 5 seconds. The golf ball identification changes relatively fast after setting spin, and doesn't pose to be a factor that will cause a meter stutter unless one shoots extremely fast.

  Get into a rhythm of waiting for these animations to settle-down, and the meter will run smooth every-time.

  I've also noticed the USGA/Oakmont banner freezes, or stops when the meter starts to move. This was a classic cause for meter stutter in the past.
