Taking the longer view on this, based on what GF says, as well as the performance characteristics of the new balls, players who are not at the tippy-top may actually self-select against these balls, and not just on the price alone. (For myself, if I'm losing massive distance on a minor mis-hit, it looks like a non-starter.) At the same time--JB, Peter et al.--WGT is rolling out Ready-Go's that are limited to the specific tier. As long as there is a critical mass, folks may play within their own tier and at least everyone is playing the same hand, not having to play every straggler, multiple-account poacher and what-not who can stroll up to the yellow or red tee-box. It seems like a reasonable way forward.
