I have asked this question before, but have gotten no answers.  Why can't WGT give us the option of playing in our country club tournaments with other members of our CC?  We would get a lot more interest in our tourneys from players who can't stay on for long periods of time.  We could have the fun of playing with our friends while supporting the Country Club at the same time.

There was a thread on this within the last 2 weeks which was answered by a mod.

He outlined WGT's thinking as to why it won't be happening.

    Here's the answer -

    Hi

i heard this for a while but i personally don't think it's a good idea for us.

not only then you won't get unfair insight on putts and such, but also sometimes when you are in a tournament, shot clock is your nemesis.. I know many players who often take 5 minutes for an important putt, or take a break after 9 holes. Neither of this would be possible....

In failure to grasp an opportunity to make the game more realistic and fun, WGT again ignores what is happening in real life. Getting insight on shots IS part of the game. In real life you are NOT given an infinite amount of time; players are put "on the clock" for slow play in tournaments. In most tournaments players and groups are required to maintain their order at the turn, meaning no large break is allowed between the front and back 9s.

WGT should just set the 90 second clock as the mandatory shot clock in tourneys. Make it two minutes if need be.  If a player is one of those who takes breaks at the turn they should just continue to play alone or join a group where the players coordinate among themselves the resumption of their round.

Yup, seemed like a pretty lame reason to me too.

Maybe the pros have to shut their eyes while their opponents ball is in motion?

What gets me, is that WGT encourages us with bright green buttons to invite friends to play this game at every opportunity, then on the other hand they hinder us when we want to play with them.

But hey, we still get to enjoy yet another clash, Thank you WGT for keeping our best interests at heart.
