Ok So I started playing WGT a couple weeks ago and noticed that when I first started playing that it took a little while to get past the inital load of a game (and sometimes between holes) and that the meter can get glitchy at times.
I have found a partial solution to this, that atleast works for me and one other person i know.
It only works for people on a PC and that are using Chrome (from what I understand).
Step 1. Open wgt.com in your chrome browser like you normally would. (you can sign in at this point if youd like but you dont have to).
Step 2. Click on the wrench icon in the upper right of your screen to bring down the chrome menu.
Step 3. Hover over "tools" and click on "create application shortcuts".
Step 4. Click on the checkboxes where you want chrome to store the shortcut (ie: desktop, start menu, quick launch bar).
Step 5. Once done close the chrome browser and navigate to where you saved the application shortcut and double click to open WGT in a "web application" environment.
Step 6. Play Golf.
I know this seems simple and you think to yourself that this isnt going to do much, But by doing this i have compared wgt opened in FF vs. Chrome vs. a Chrome web application.. and by opening it in a clean slimmed down web application environment I have saved about 40,000K memory usage Vs. playing in FF or the normal Chrome browser. Resulting in 10-20 (sometimes higher) second faster load times, and a not-so glitchy meter, and even a lowered amount of disconnects and timeouts.
I can't promise these types of results for each individual (since its all based on the individual computer), but it has helped shave atleast 3 strokes off my game in a short amount of time.
On a short note I also use Gamebooster to shut down outside memory usage as well as close the main wgt window and only leave the actual game window up during play (which i was doing before and during these tests so thats not a factor in the numbers i reported improving.
One last helpful tip is to play the game in its "fullscreen" format, I think this is mentioned in the FAQ's but its always good to play any computer game in fullscreen format due to the fact your video card prefers to render in its natural state than having to render a window inside of a window and will help.
Hope this info helps atleast 1 person, cause that will make it worth posting.
Thanks for your time.
