I nominate a YELLOW dot to indicate that you use caution.  The player you are trying to embroil in a game of golf may neither like you nor care to be whumped by your superior playing skills.

That's a detailed idea indeed. I was thinking of something on a more simplified approach, But, WGT certainly needs to address this with some kind of solution on any level.

    What if you're colorblind?

Just add 2 more choices to what's there now. "Playing" and "Waiting for invite"

No, YankeeJim. Please don't destroy Nivlac's great idea by just asking for some additional textual descriptions. Those are not enough. We do need the multiple-color user status dots.

(For the colorblind, I am sure a workaround solution can be found.)

Mark Holliday of the Ladders Site has just done it again and knocked us all for a loop.

In the hours of one morning, Mark implemented the multiple-colour user status dots over on the Ladders site:

    http://www.wgt.agls.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1772#p1772

Now, it should be mentioned that Mark is a programmer for whom the Ladders Site is no more than a hobby. We're just his "non-paying customers", so to say.

Meanwhile, we're WGT's paying customers, but the multiple-colour user status dots idea, first expressed by Nivlac back in December 2008, hasn't been implemented on this site yet.

Here is hoping that WGT can imitate Mark Holliday's speed & efficiency & bring us the multiple-colour user status dots in the next WGT product release!

To make this even clearer, here is a screenshot of Mark Holliday's implementation of the Friends Panel on the Ladders Site, the panel shown here in the Opera browser:

Please, WGT, give us something similar here on WGT.com soon as well. It will make it so much easier to play games with friends, and avoid sending invitations in the midst of our rounds. Thank you.
