There is no supreme excellence  in out spending another club. The elusive golden putter is easily bought so lets stop kidding ourselves.

A better barometer of being classified as the #1 CC may be based on earnings.  The Top 4 CCs in Earnings have less than 70 members.

Is this Golf for the fun of it or Gambling for the dollars?

People complain that Clashes just mean spending money (it doesn't have to cost you a cent by taking surveys, etc. to earn credits); now you propose that gambling money away is a better way. Give your 'putter' a shake.

How does the  Georgian club get in 15 clashes ?  Thats not possible in 48 hours but they did it.

    CEverett12:

To everyone who played in the CC event I ask you this ,  How much time and money did you invest ? And what did you get out of it ?

In reply to your your questions, I spent approximately 3 hours total playing in the clash. Investment was nothing out of pocket but time. I use theFREE balls we get for entering tournaments and the ones they give us for certain occasions. I use the FREE pass they give every 4 hours and I used one FREE super pass.

What I got out of it was fellowship with my CC mates. You see most of us use a chat service for our club and while we play we chat with each other. Our goal is simple, to have fun and enjoy. In between CLASH rounds we play regular course games, AS or SKINS.

We are a small club, 50 members, and have about a 25%-30% participation in the clash. We do not try to BUY our place in the standings and yet we have placed in the top 25 once, top 50 numerous times, and no less than top 100 ever.

The above are the positives. The following is the negative, and I hope WGT  management listens or reads this. Having this event more than 1 time a month gets monotonous. The disparity is evident ergo the reason we don't buy passes. '[ hint: lost revenue] We know we can't compete against the likes of GEORGIANS so we just play for the fun and camaraderie. Many of our members have expressed their sentiments about being out classed and wish that WGT would consider the clash be reasonably fair like having divisions of CC based on size, then it would be more of a contest and may entice more participation ergo more revenue.

We have no rule stating every member HAS to participate in the clash. We have freedom of choice, as it should be. However, uniting as a team has always proven the better goal to achieve rather than being individualistic. Being part of that team instills a sense of unity and pride in working towards a specific goal where there are no losers, everyone wins.

I have read a lot of comments, mostly unfavorable, about the clash on this and other threads like it. To each his own. I will not force my opinion on anyone, suffice to say what encourages participation in our CC will only enhance the experience of belonging to the club.

That, for what it's worth, is my opinion.

    Steve

    Perfect rationale, Steve!

Concerning monotony, just leave some out if it's too much!

Thanks Steve You have some good points and I agree with you , however our club has 248 members and not everyone likes the events so it divides the club, and that is not a good thing . I like the team attitude where we are all together and that is never a problem until we have a CC event , You see what I mean ,  How can we have a team if we are on different sides ?  Its a distraction to say the least ,  If it brings your club closer together that's a good thing but I don't see that in our club ,  We have members who like to play in the events and I will not stand in their way .

There is an easy solution to the problem  FIX IT !   How hard can it be ?    Unfortunately WGT does not care ! or they would do something about it ....

Well in my opinion these clash's require a major change.Yes the Georgian wins them all but they cant be blamed for winning.A change is required to make this entertaining to others.Maybe a tier system.clubs level 1-6 ,7-12,12+ play against each other, offer golden putter to each tier.

This one might have flown over many heads

    Very good suggestion

Going to disagree :).........I think WGT know it's always going to be a limited audience because it's a pass buying zero skill daftness that few will go for.

Having said that I am sure they would try it, but why bother when for zero expense you can get a few to chase for nothing, and pay to do so.  Sorry WGT hold a hand up and say winner in return......could not write it.

    I have an idea...

If the Clashes are that popular and generates sooo much revenue, how about having 2 running simultaneously?  With the game nearly unplayable with one Clash running, those of us not interested can do other things with our money.

Sounds like a plan too me!
