I have stated many times that I like this game very much and it is to me near or same as the real game,as just as good shots..or bad shots can be made on it..I took up the real game for several reasons..one of witch was that everyone said good luck to everyone else before they even teed off the one big difference is that your arms and legs are not tired after the round is over..I have always said hi and good luck before the tee off of every round I play no mater who the players are..it is just something that carried over to me from the real game that I no longer play now except for the very odd time..but I do watch every tournament on television when I can,and even at the start of their rounds they say hi and good luck to the others in the group.

I do not understand how some players cannot say it at the start of the round same as the real game, and when they do it tells me they play this site because of the fun it was meant for..and the fun it offers, and that makes for great competition at anytime..but when a player or players do not say it..to me it then sounds like they are out only to win the game.. period..and try and be top dog on this site..always..those same ones are again to me more likely to quit a game when they cannot outright win..or they have a bad shot..well I will still play all players in my rounds regardless if they cannot type those words ..but at the same time I do not really care to compliment them on any good shot the make or to say anything to them for the round..this is not a huge deal to some..but it is to me and I do think it should be said on every round..even if that player or players do not want to type another word for the round..Play well and have fun all

Tom Brady did an interview and they talked about his competitive nature. He said he is so obsessed with winning, that when he loses even a game of back-gammon, he will destroy the board afterwards. Now, many obvious differences between having that mentality as a professional athlete, and what this site is for...a relaxing escape from reality. But, to some people, this is reality, to the point where they have to win...polite small talk or well wishes are just an annoyance. I've played almost 6700 games of Alternate and I've met all types of personalities. Of the many formats, one would think that Alternate shot would attract the more sociable player, but this isn't always the case.

... sometimes, it's because they are having a bad day, or are naturally quiet, or have the chat turned off...and sometimes, it's just because they are jerks...lol

Another aspect being, this is not golf but an online video game about golf. Besides the golfers, there are many gamers here with another attitude.

Furthermore, the other players aren't visible to anyone. Thus, some may forget who's on the other side, seeing only the avatars but no obligation to other humans.
