Petition's idea was very nice and needed but i don't believe that could ''sweat'' anyone from the staff to change things back. So, how about trying to find a solution on our own? Iam not a computer geek but how do you like this idea?

If we set a power plan with the low brightness possible and make a shortcut (keyboard or mouse), we can change on the fly our screen's luminosity. Then, after the neon sign's appear, we can shift it back using another shortcut.
Another idea is to create a shortcut for brightness (0) and restore it after the flashing.
These are two quick random thoughts...if any of you have an idea how to overcome this problem, please feel free to enlight us!! (sorry for the use of improper word but as a Greek, i love tragic irony!! :))
