R.I.P. George Martin...producer/collaborator/recording pioneer who was responsible for most of the creative output of the Beatles.

Here's just one of many examples of his genius:

Andy, was a creative genius for sure....Martin called Noel Gallagher "the finest songwriter of his generation."

    Incredible innings.

Whatever it was that clicked with that general coming together ended up bigger than the parts, as has been said before I am sure, and that's not demeaning the parts at all.

Sad news, but what a go at it to celebrate too.

Jim, I agree, a perfect storm for sure.  I'm not sure the casual listener/fan knows what a huge part Martin played from the creative aspect.  He himself was a musician/arranger and broke ground using "found" sounds and multi-tracking before either of those became commonplace.

On top of that, he was using a 4-track board, so the multiplying of tracks was very hands-on and creative on his part.

Produced great music and lived to the age of 90, so no tears for Sir George, just celebration of a life well lived and all the joy he spread through his genius.

Another reason for missing the guy..He knew the script !

Could do things that had never been tried before on on a 4 play slab  !!

Genius is an often used word that generally doesn't apply....

In this case I think it is perfectly apt !!!

    R.I.P. my knighted..............

Well said, a very instrumental man, not only as the 5th Beatle, but to many others.

    A party in heaven today.
