We all have lost new balls into the weeds, fact of life. So, how about an option to purchase ball protection, at the time of ball purchase, for an extra amount of cost, that would allow that ball to come back into play?

Me personally, would like to see that ball come back. I totally accept lost balls due to my errors, whether it be in water or OB but by my error only. Clicking the meter a fraction early or on the sweet spot and having the meter stutter & engage 6-7 bars late resulting in lost balls is well .... you know what I'm going to say lol Seeing a ball trickle into the bush and having it declared "lost" is nonsense in my books. The 1 stroke penalty should be enough.

Hey everyone is required to wear one on the team boys and girls.  I coached a little league team several years ago that had a cup rule and I had one girl on my team, the second best player on the team.  She had to wear a cup like the boys  lol

I don't know about insurance SP, might be an idea though. What I'd like WGT to consider is the fact that in golf one has 6 minutes to look for a lost ball, and in many instances these are found. So, why not implement a randomized "ball found" percentage to help with this age old problem?

Very valid point. Nevertheless, this is a game that must have revenue to exist. I was only offering an idea that perhaps could have promise to satisfy both parties. I was just spitballing a possible opportunity.

I remember the good old days when you cursed the penalty stroke rather than the lost ball, lol....

"spitballing"!!!!  Isn't that a violation of forum etiquette?

I think the solution to the problem is to make a lost ball "lost", and an expired ball, one that is able to be continued in play just with some of the properties decreased.

For instance, spin, distance, feel and durability would have a decrease percentage that equates to x per shot or per 4 shots.   They would continue to decrease until the ball had 1 dot on all areas or something that made it where the ball was still better than a starter ball, or however slightly WGT figures it could be while still making sure people invest in the balls.

It would also give their sponsors increased brand recognition as the balls would be in play for a longer period of time...well, at least for most people, I tend to lose mine in the gunk at #2 Kiawiah :)
