Id be interested in knowing how it is that when I have a 50 score and another player has a 53 that i dont make the cut and he does.

Highlighted the important part. It is like match play - you have to score better than the player you are paired against, other players scores are not important.

It was the final qualifying round with 4 people... one wd and only one other player beat my score.

You may not understand how a bracket works...

There's the left side and the right side.

You were on the left side...you play your score against the player who is directly above or below you (look at the little lines)...what occurs on the right side is not relevant to what occurs on the left side.

There is no "cut"..it's player vs player

My understanding is you player against the person you are paired with until the final four players have been determined. Out the four semi finalists the lowest two scores advance to the final? Am I incorrect in that assumption

    Yes, you are incorrect.

When in the semi's, you are playing the player on your side of the bracket...as are the other two players on the other side of the bracket.

The winner of the left plays the winner on the right in the final.

Hang in there bro, get ya self a win!
