    why is it when I play a practice round I often shoot even par then I go and play a scored round

    Only you know why you play a scored round after a practice round!

     

    That said, practice play may be easier than scored rounds.

    Hmm....long ago when I never missed playing in a weekly or monthly tourney, I never practiced because there was no heat, no nerves involved. Practice was a different set of circumstances of care less, nothing on the line, nothing cookin'...I have always believed the best practice needs the heat...it teaches much about ones self and fortifies the nerves when you are rolling strong and have to face closing with a chance to win.
