  I'm wondering if it is better to buy clubs separate or club sets. Also, I would appreciate input on what kind be it just woodseems & irons, or a set of clubs. What name brands are best in your opinions? Such as, Distance, Accuracy, Forgiveness & Meter Speed. I just don't want to waste Credits unless my scores go down so that I can be competitive.  Thanks for help & input, I really appreciate it!

  buying clubs sets are rarely worth it , reading the old threads about best drivers and irons will be more usefull.

  you just started playing , give it a bit more time.

  buying sets , means nothing , you might get it at a  cheaper price.

  But a worse driver , 3 wood etc. 

  Look in the search , many of us have been in your place .

  if you can't find the answer then ask again

  with irons,  the higher trajectory and more spin is what you will need.

  it's been so long since I used them , it's best to use the search.

  I agree with the posts above. Take the time to search and read the forums. When I joined a year ago, that's the approach I took and learned a lot. Based on what I learned there, I stuck with starter irons for a quite a while. In a nutshell, below summarizes what I learned.
  
  First thing to upgrade are wedges and a driver. It's better to have 4 wedges and not have a hybrid. (At least, after reading a lot of threads on the topic, that's the consensus that I saw.) So here's the upgrade I took.
  
  I got the Cleveland wedges (56, 60, and 64 degree wedges) starting around level 26. They transformed my short game. When I hit level 48, I got the R1 driver. When I hit level 59, I got the Ping Irons. I tried a couple of putters but went back to the starter putter until I hit level 70 and got the Versa. For most of the time, I played the starter balls.
  
  I also agree to avoid the club sets.  
  
  Obviously, I upgraded clubs and now use Callaway or Nike balls after I progressed through the higher levels. But the above was my approach through level 70.

  Me thinks, reasonable sets are worth a view. You get them with a discount, and you may sell parts of the sets individually, e.g. the hybrid.

  Take the G25 sets at L59 and L83 as examples. The L59 is the first "high trajectory" set and both have reasonable prices and a reasonable performance. It's not the cream of the game but good enough for many.

  It's also reasonable in the light of Solarflares' preference: The path from L83 to L90 is as long as from L1 to L82:
