I just made it to master, although I have a feeling I didn't want to :).  Now, some of the par 4's (e.g. Congressional #2) are really par 5's with the equipment I have.  Here is my current bag (excluding putter/wedges):

    Driver - TaylorMade R11 (lvl 29)
3 Wood - None (replaced by third wedge)
3H - Starter (never use it)
    Irons -  Ping G25 (lvl 59)

I know I can replace the driver with something like the TM R1 (lvl 48), Ping G25, etc. right now.  My other option would be to wait until lvl 79 for the TM SLDR.  Would I be miserable waiting that long to replace my driver given the new tees?  I'm trying not to sink too much money into this game.  Or would a 3 wood be a decent alternative to get me to lvl 79?

Thanks for the time and help!

What you really need right now is a driver,  3WD and maybe a set of wedges. Ditch the hybrid for the third wedge and buy a three wood.

Conventional advice is buy the L48 TaylorMade 275 and use till Legend/90s. It's still a good buy for you, but for a bit more the level 55 Taylormade driver is a touch longer and a slower meter.

Conventional advice says to buy 3 of the low level ATVs or 3 of the low level Clevelands and use them till 74-80 clevelands.  Having a set of the same three wedges is very helpful. That's still probably your best bet, unless you want to wait and get the higher clevelands, but a set of wedges will really help. That said, I don't know anything about the wedges you have, so maybe they are fine.

You did the right thing buy those Irons, I bought them at 59 and used them until I unlocked my current set at 85. You should do that as you can learn at lot with them.

Thanks for the response.  I already have 3 wedges so I'm good there.  I'm also very happy with the G25.

I guess I was looking for advice on if I could/should just keep the TaylorMade R11 (lvl 29) until I reach level 79 or if I will be unhappy and should purchase an intermediate driver.  Or if I should get a 3 wood, or will the G25 3 iron (210 yards) be adequate.

Get rid of the hybrid and go for a driver and 3 wood upgrade .

    L48+ TM R1 2,495 credits

L58+ G25 driver and 3 wood 2,190 credits total for both clubs .

You want to make your upgrades to last but also to make sense . If you havent been doing the videos to earn free credits then you need to start . You dont have to spend money to play this game . I have been playing for 5 years and never spent a penny and I have top clubs . You wont move back on the tees again until you reach Legend . So if you take your time you can make that last until around L90 . this will give you plenty of time to build up your credits until then .

All the advice above is excellent. Also, try and match your club speed as much as possible.

At master and tour master there is really no need for a 3 wood or hybrid. In most cases the 3 iron is long enough for most shots.

Do as many of us did until legend and that is Driver, tron set and 4 optional wedges. 54,56,60 and 64 degree either The Taylor Made ATV's , or the Cleveland 588's, I wouldn't recommend the Pings because of the fact that there is no 64 degree wedge in that series and I hesitate recommending the Max wedges because of excessive spin,

I also think you've received excellent advice. I would definitely get the L48 driver. It's a must have. It will serve you well all the way to legend.

I disagree a bit on the 3 wood. Since you're fine on wedges (IMO) and you have an open slot, I would get a new 3 wood. It will help on some long par 5s like St. Andrews, 14th hole. If you have a headwind, it can be almost impossible to get the second shot past Hell bunker without a decent 3 wood.

I always thought TaylorMade R15 (L41) was a good club and not too pricey.

Thanks again everyone for the time and information.  Sounds like the consensus is that I should definitely bite the bullet and spend some credits on a new driver.  I'll do that first and go from there.
