  Is it possible to play with friends?  If so how?

  Choose a game mode and a course, then choose "INVITE PLAYERS" and "CREATE GAME". Once you're in the game lobby you will have the choice to invite a friend or find a player looking for a game.

  Since you have zero WGT friends: What do you mean?

  You may invite RL friends by their email (use the green button on the left), and they will have to sign in to play.

  A caveat: Crossplatform play between PC and mobiles is not possible.
