Nah, this wasn't a bad idea, not when you look at it in a global sense. There have been far, far worse ideas over the years.
The thing is, for me anyway, either people can putt well or they can't. It's a bit like that old legend about a top tennis player using a frying pan to beat anyone who wanted to challenge him. I don't mean he beat them over the head, he used the frying pan instead of a tennis racquet. Maybe that's just an urban myth though.
Anyway, I really don't think a slightly better and mega over priced putter will actually make any difference to anyone's ability to get the ball in the hole. I remember Goldi bought one and was very under whelmed by the thing.
Personally I'd rather they dropped the golden garbage and dumped a load of credits into the bank of the winning country club. What's that? The bank doesn't work yet? Oh be sensible, you don't expect me to believe that do you? It's been coming soon for ages.
I believe men can buy pills for large sums of money to make them come later. Perhaps WGT have been taking them at their monthly meetings.....
