Nope, Masters may get stronger wind, etc. (Unless it's a tournament played from the same tees by everyone.)
So to clarify; Under tournament play the wind direction is random for each player.
Good question! Haven't seen the answer to that one yet. Could be quite decisive, in fact. Whether you get headwind or tailwind on Bethpage, hole 7, for example, could make all the difference for your final score.
Yeah, players of the same tier will experience different wind speeds and directions within the designated range on each individual hole.
Yes, I remember at the US OPEN tournament that my friends had wind that was helping where I had wind that was against. Basically they were able to get to the green in two on three holes where I had to layup. It may be a bit unfair previously but not so much now. Now that most holes are easily reached.
For BPB #7 it is always a three shot hole to reach the hole. I try to play position on my second where I can have a control shot into the green with a wedge. Now with the August International tournament, I can reach in two. However, I have to hug the tree line on the right side off the tee.
