  Next time that you play this shot use the punch which is 50 yards . Your problem is you dont know how to use shot selection . The 50 yard punch shot would have set you spot on the pin . Stop always trying to choke the shot by using the full wedge and learn how to use all of your shot options . So learn the punch and flop and you can go from 20ft. to 11ft. or better in getting closer to the pin .

  So good players dont have this happen to them because good players know how to use their clubs to score better . Your problem is player error not game error .

  Caddy suggested you use the 30ft putter

   

   never listen caddy , use your  judgement ,  you  will  learn  caddy  is many times  wrong

  and look   2x3 times  before u hit
