    Level 66 Tour Pro

    Gorge 54 Wedge (L18+)

    Gorge 60 Wedge (L18+)

    TaylorMade ATV 64 Wedge (L39+)

What would you suggest for wedges at this point? I don't want to spend too much so should I stay with TaylorMade ATV Wedges? L39 ok at this stage in the game for me? Or do I need higher level clubs.

    Thanks in advance!

The level 64 ATVs are good wedges, and lasted me a long time, until I got the l90s Max's. They're not expensive, and they will definitely help you get it closer.

Great user name, by the way. I remember that bit!

Personally, I loved the Cleveland wedges (L27 to L31). I thought they had great stopping power and nice forgiveness. If it were me, I would sell back the wedges you have and pick up the 56, 60, and 64 degree Clevelands.

But I know that others really love the ATV stuff. I tried a couple of the wedges once and much prefer the Clevelands. They also worked nicely for me with the Ping L59 irons because the meter was not that much different.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Edit:
I should have also mentioned that the yardages would be nicely spaced because (if I recall correctly) your PW punches to either 98 or 103 yards. So you would have these yardages on your wedges:

    60, 75, 90, 98 or 103 (PW punch), 115

But I'm going from memory so it's possible I'm remembering incorrectly.

I'd never(!) sell the L39 AVT 64° (50 yds) for any lower level wedge - it's marvellous! I'm still playing it's predecessor, Z Satin!

But, your wedge spacing may need some update: 50 - 60 - 80 yds below a G25 (L59) PW of 115 yds is less beneficial. It should have around 100 yds punch - expand the wedges up to this distance but not further!

You might get yourself the L38/39 ATVs - 60° and 54° for 77 and 98 yds. I have played similar wedges for the longest time.

The Ping Gorge (60°, 52°) of L41/42 are a bargain with a good spacing of 75 / 100 yds, but a tad less spin.

The Ping of L60 aren't expensive, the ATV of L62 aren't too bad either, but both have unfortunate long distances.

You might let you purse decide between the two former sets as an addition to your ATV.

The "Mercedes" are coming from L74 up: Cleve 588 and ATV. Both have a reputation here, and a price.

As others said before, good wedges have more than one rated distance. The punches count in for double figures.

    Have fun!
