  65yds straight into the cup, the game plays the "sklorr orr orr" sound for success and the ball bounces 16 yds backwards. That is physically impossible IMO considering the deptht of the cup and the angles possible for a rebound.

  I would not mind the ball coming up from the cup and rest a couple of feets or even a yard from the cup, but seeing an eagle turn into a par like that in a tourny game is no fun.

  I would not post this had I not seen similar things happen before and I do definitely consider this a bug.

  What is WGT's opinion of this?

  The cup in most cases is aluminum and it is hard. I'm not sure how many balls hit into the cup stay and how many bounce out. I know my one and only hole-in-one flew straight into the hole and stayed but the ball can bounce out and like yours hit the pin on the way out making it bounce and roll a long way. I was talking a friend from high school shortly after my hole-in-one and he said that he once hit one straight into the cup and it bounced out hitting the pin on the way out, much like yours did and rolled 20 or so feet off the green into a greenside bunker up against the lip. His hole-in-one turned into a double bogey. So things like what happened to you happen in real life too. So there is no bug.

  I am quite sure it is more or less impossible to, IRL, judge if the ball was in the cup or if it bounced a) directly on the pin or b) on the edge of the cup, into the pin and the into the bunker. 
  
  In my case, the sound triggered is te "in the cup" sound, so somehwere lies and error.  It is simply not possible to bounce in that direction from the bottom of the cup. I have seen replays where the ball has bounced 150+ yds after landing in the cup, so there is definitely some parameters that need a loser look.

  It is possible to have a ball rejected as shown in your replay because it happened to me on February 8, 2009. I can’t recall on what course or what hole it happened. I had a replay of it at one time but it has since been deleted.  Your replay shows exactly what happened to my ball too; from the sound of the ball in the cup, to the sound of the ball hitting the flag stick, and yes the ball even went backwards about the same distance as yours did.  Luckily, it’s a rare occurrence; it has happened to me just once (which is enough). 
  
  I found my earlier post about it (see it here)... it has happened to a third golfer as well.

  Yes, I know it has happened before and I have seen replays of it. That is why I consider it a bug. The bug can be a) "in the cup" sound is triggered even though the ball is not actually in the cup or b) it bounces in a manner that real life physics does not allow

  Have seen many replays of this on WGT, but kudos go to Borntobesting for pointing out that this actually happens in real life.

  But was the pin actually in the cup when the shot was made? Has this ever happened in WGT when the pin was removed? It could be another reason to pull the flagstick as standard procedure.
