    Hi all,

I'm kind of new to this game and as I as playing a tournament in my CC, I realized that WGT is taking 20% of all the tournaments purse? Isn't it excessive? For every 5cr fees, there 4cr returned to the purse. Unless there is something I don't know (like a cake at my birthday), I starting to feel like at the slot machine at the casino...

Thanks for taking time to answer me.

They have to make their money in order to recoup their initial investment and to continue to improve the game. They most certainly have improved the game in the 18 months I have been playing, so I don't really have a problem with their cut of the purse. I do get hacked off at the cost of the balls but I'm just a miserable b@ssa......

    House always get a cut/rake

20% rake for each member who enters A CC tournament i feel is a tad much 10% i feel would be acceptable

For 20% rake we pay for each member who enters a CC tournament  would like to see CC owners have more options to offer there club members. At the end of the day more options we have the wide range of tournaments we can put on not just to appeal for a small % of members but a wider range of members means more members will enter more prize money players can play for & means for a better return WGT for upgrading CC owner options.

Well, poker site doesn't take that much so I figured...lol

I do understand that they need money too and I'm ok with it, clubs, balls, avatar and everything, just that 20% seems a bit high. a 50cr tournament, after 3 players has 120cr in purse... Well.. just saying

Spot on on the 10% idea. I have a crappy little club and only two of us play the credit games I set up. As we only play for 30 credits, the winner ends up feeling it's not worth his while.

Haven't set up a credit tourno for over a month now. Might as well close it down.

Some of us still buy our credits. Thus, getting charged again for using them seems harsh.

Overall, a 10% rake on CC tournos is fair IMHO.

What is WGT making if a member doesn't deposit money into the game to enter a tournament? Taking 20% of credits already won seems like a waste of time.

WGT should take 10 to 20% of all new money deposited in the game, then there wouldn't be no need to take 20% from tournament winnings. WGT's take would have been recouped from new money during the deposit.

WGT can't be making real money from virtual currency.

Even Vegas only takes 5% of all bets.  You bet $100, pay them $110 and if you win you get back $210, lose you get taken for your $110.  That is how they get to 5%.  WGT on even match play takes 10% from each side initially and only pays out the original bet without returning the original bet plus the winners juice.  You bet $110 basicaly to win $80.  I can't do the CC or ready gos but it appears they take even more their.

I realize they need to make money but this is too much.  The Vegas model is more correct and fair.
