Ever since I purchased the R-9 Tri, my game has slipped around 3-4 strokes on 9 holes.

I recently started checking out the stats on drivers and noticed the R-9 tri meter is faster than the original R-9.  I just switched out the tri for the original R-9 and holy sh1t, the meter is sooooo much slower.  Only problem less distance, BUT its well worth the sacrifice for accuracy.

Now I realize this post comes probably 6 months late, but for anyone stuck with the old clubs AND you have the old R-9  and the tri, GET RID OF THAT TRI, ITS A PIECE OF ***!!!!!

Even though the R9 Tri has a blazing meter that exceeds my old reflexes, save on great days, I do not agree it is a bad driver. It is in fact very good for the fortunate few who can handle it, together with the equally excellent but difficult i15 clubs.

The Tri is an awesome driver. I got used to the G10 meter speed first, then got the Tri and the i15's, and got used to them rather quick. It regularly drives 300+yds with 5mph wind at my back, using backspin, which also keeps it from running off the fairway. Of course there are times I cannot hit the ding, when I'm tired, or the servers are busy and meter stutters, but for the most part its ding ding ding, love...

HDBanger, you are among the small elite of blazing fast meter dingers, whereas I belong to the envious group of slower players who can rarely ding the R9 Tri or the i15, much to my regret. You are lucky, that is all.

When i first used the tri, my fairways hit went down a great deal, but after getting used to it, it really helped in lowering my scores, the drives are not much shorter than the new 280 yard driver i'm using now, except this meter is sooooo much slower.

But it isn't as bad as the damn i15 3 wood i use...now that ALWAYS catches me out with its speed...roll on next level to buy the R11
