Not true!
CDP bonus + shot XPs are added to both your and your CC's totals at the moment they are earned - including possible CC % boni. On PC, you'll see the shot increments in a flash of the XP bar (top left) within a second of stroking the ball, and the counter rises.
The CDP is earned with your first swing in the game and added to the totals.
In an uncomplete game, you certainly lose the competion XPs and the displays, but those mentioned above will be safely yours.
