  I think Orwell came up with the idea and philosophy of nuspeak by studying what America did with the English language.Cell phone text 'language' seems like nuspeak to me also.

  Limit language and you limit the ability for independant thinking and therefore dumb down the whole populus, leaving them with little free will and open to suggestion.

  Yes, I think Orwell wouldn't have been at all surprised by the emergence of "fake news" in social media and elsewhere.

  On a related note, there's a good reason that a group of believers is called a flock.

  Yeah free speech is alive and well, it, (truth or fiction) is after all, based on opinions.

  WGT, it's members and the Golf Channel shouldn't fear opinions.

  Sean...Canada has the "charter of rights and freedoms", which gets as equally abused by the fringe elements as your constitutional amendments.
