Unfortunately, that wouldn't be in compliance with rules of golf. :(
You are allowed to add clubs to your bag during a round if you started with less than 14, but you're not allowed to take clubs away. The only time you're allowed to switch clubs mid-round is when it's broken during the course of normal play.
In the 2009 US Open DJ Trahan broke his putter in frustration during the 2nd round. He had to finish the round putting with his driver. Consequently, that round was split over two days because of all the weather delays. It's one thing to break your putter and finish your round and move on, but it's another thing to break your putter, sleep on it and then warm up with your driver on the putting green the next morning. He should've just taped "I'm an idiot" to his hat. :D
