I hope the following is helpful in your quest toward a better short game. (1) Don't take the recommend "caddie advice", shot wise, as cogent. Many times the chip shows up and it should be a pitch. And vice-versa. (2) The pitch, as a rule, is best served at 75% of full power. That is to say a 14 yard shot with a 14 yard pitch, works well at 75% value. A chip is different. A 10 yard chip is, a 10 yard chip. (3) Before executing the shot choice, change clubs to putter and view the shot front and reverse to best determine the speed and break. Practice these simple but imperfect guidlines and experience a difference in your results.
