Damn Byron, that's some hard luck bro! Yes, things like that do happen in real life. In fact, last year I was competing in the nyc amateur champs and my (pure) tee shot on the par 3 3rd hole hit the pin and spun back into a water hazard in front of the green, lol. Golf is most definitely a four-letter word mate :)

I was playing at my local course last summer and hit the ball from a similar distance as you, it hit the cup and shot like a missile some 300 + yards away!

    ^^^^This

is possible - quite a few vids out on youtube showing such bad luck of prime Pros, on the Masters and elsewhere.

But, I've never seen a ball with the energy for 20 yds left in it's movement, after 130 yds flight, start off like a rocket for another 200 yds after it hit the pin or the hole. like in the replay.

I even had one on KIA #7(?) that went on almost straight, "through the pin" for a similar distance.

At  that point, something is unnatural in the game physics, but we have to take it like men do.

BTW: My best one IRL was an SW approach 3rd to a Par 4, It went low and too fast so I mentally saw it in the back bunker. But, it hit the upper half of the flagstick and dropped into the hole for an unexpected birdie!

Never seen this outcome here, but I've seen a ball bounce up from two feet above(!) the tip of the flagstick and land safely on the green ;)

This, boys and girls, is called a mapping error.

It's a video game........Strangely, perhaps, the most exaggerated fault does seem usually to be exactly that bounce type.

As Alosso I think was alluding that energy transference  is zany...........Usually it's remarkable how well everything sims but this is one area where things can go OTT.............Report it to CS.  They are, in my experience,  invariably usually real good about it:)

Those replays always remind me of the time I hit a nice shot on a par 3 in my RL golf league.   I thought for sure I had a chance at the CTTH, but the ball hit the top of the CTTH marker and rocketed up in the air and landed in a pine tree between the green and an adjacent hole.  LOL  Just happy I found the ball.  It's a souvenir for my RL WTF moment.

    Unfortunate and Funny Stuff Guys.

Wow Alosso nice stick shot Unfortunate on the water shot Mick dam, great stories everyone thank you!

Thanks for the  Replies Everyone and it helps to know that it really happens although I know we have it good on WGT as far as performance in real life most of us would take all day to play 9 holes lol.

I love this game and its great community and in real life I know the conditions are way more variable than the game so I take the bad with the good and try to chuckle ; ]

Happy swingin n dingin all cheers thanks for making the game more fun.
