Just out of curiousity....I have been playing this game for roughly 2 months and the only thing I see getting better is my level and even that doesn't coincide with how "good" I am.  The shots are inconsistent, the way the ball rolls on the greens is inconsistent, and the offers for credits??? That's a whole different story.....

This game is far from free....the offers to gain credits cost money unless you try your hand at a survey and even then it's not guaranteed cause you have to qualify for a survey just to get the credits and I have only qualified for a couple.  I'm sorry, but I am not about to go and spend money on credits just to be competitive.

Since I am on the subject and mentioned my level going up, I will also mention that I keep bouncing between the red and white tees and with the clubs that I can actually "afford" I can't even reach the green in 2 shots on some holes.

Does ANYONE have ANY tips on how to overcome this without making this "free" game UNFREE?????

There is no magic to playing better.  You'll need to put in the time and play with equipment that fits your game and expectations.  Check out the equipment of any player in the upper tiers and I doubt you'll find anyone playing with free clubs...there's a reason for that.  You can register for free, use Starter equipment and balls for free, enter some tournaments for free, and play at an uninspiring level for free.  To be competitive (a relative term of course) it is very difficult, if not impossible, to do that for free.

PS: Our points Level has very little to do with how well we play...it's really just a measurement of how much we play...which unlocks equipment in the Pro Shop.

Well said Joey....and ACCURATE, especially on the ps.

I am still making the same bone head shots now that I'm up on levels.....I'm just making them with more costly equipment.

After 33 ranked rounds i doubt you have even scratched the surface as to what your clubs are capable of, or the various ways to get around the golf courses easier and shorter than the posted yardage.

Contrary to your statement, the game is free and with a little practice and a few more rounds you should be competitive at your level with other players with similar clubs and experience.

You will not however be competitive with golfers with better more expensive clubs and balls unless of course you purchase them and learn to use them.

It all boils down to what you want from the game.

The options taken or not are provided to you to purchase better equipment, or continue to use what they gave you and accept the challenge  they provide.

If you want a free lunch none are provided here.

Well, you just proved my point...the game is NOT free IF you want to be competitive and personally, it's getting a bit old when it comes to trying to get better.  I'm sure I will keep playing just to give me something to do, but I'm not sure for how much longer.  Maybe if the goals were more attainable...not given, but at least earned, it would be a little more fun.

You are a bit off topic...you might get more comments on your question by starting your own thread.

To answer your questions, practice is the only way I know to get better.  Having better equipment and balls only makes the game easier...our best players indulge a lot...or as one said "Waste a lot of time" (smile).  Just make time for the important things in life.
