Tribute to Erica Blasberg-She left us one year ago-age 25
Erica Blasberg. Born:July 14,1984 - Died: 2010-05-09 (age 25)
Blasberg was born in Orange, California but was raised in Corona. During her high school days she played on the boys' golf team.
She attended the University of Arizona where she quickly became the country's number 1 ranked college player as a freshman. She compiled six victories before leaving in her sophomore year to turn pro. She was selected as an All-America golfer in both 2003 & 2004.
She had one professional win, Laconia Savings Bank Golf Classic in 2004. In that tournament she set a Futures Tour 18 hole record 62. She was found dead in her Nevada home 1 year ago.
Blasberg started on the LPGA Tour in 2005, making the cut in most of her early events.
While Blasberg never made the professional splash she hoped for, she did enjoy her stint as the face of Puma Golf, appearing in a television commercial. She also represented Cleveland Golf and Casio.
Strange, her bags were packed and she was all set to play in an LPGA event in Alabama--and then she was found dead on a Sunday afternoon, with a plastic bag over her head--it was ruled "suicide".
