WGT really need to get around to adding a button to drop game AFTER a player gets dc'd and can't get back in the game....just like the option during the game to agree to end match.

I've been 2 up...3 up on games and my partner (some on friends list...some I don't know from Adam) gets dc'd. As it stands...I'd lose the game....just as I have on numerous times whilst 2 or 3up.

Don't want to hear the usual crap ...." how many minutes do you think is satisfactory to wait for them to reconnect?"...because that's not addressing the issue.

If the player has an ISP outage or line goes down there ain't a lot I'm gonna be able to do about it especially if it's just someone I got paired with but don't know...It would be nice if I was 2 up or 3 up to be able to ask the other team if they wanted to drop the game....if my partner was taking too long....i.e 3 or 4 minutes.

I've had this happen to me a lot of times and it just makes a farce of the alt shot stats.....it's crazy that a team can be 3 up...then lose the game because the other player in the leading team gets DC'd and the only option available is to sit like an idiot waiting the 5 mins ...or forfeit the game when you're ahead. <-- clever huh?.

Happened again to me tonight...fair do's the game was level...but my partner got dc'd.....so what am I supposed to do???? stick needles in my a$$ for 5 mins.

Games should be won and lost on skill or errors of judgement....not if a player's ISP sux at certain times of the day.

    just sayin'

Happens to all of us that play outside of our real friends group.  It would be nice to have the option once you get back to the lobby to suggest that you drop the game rather than have to wait 5 minutes or forfeit, can't imagine that would be too hard too do.

I know some things matter more than others, but am I right in thinking that the only thing at stake in an alt shot game,is the joy of winning? Maybe this would be a more serious issue if credits were involved,or if it were a tournament.Whenever this happens to me,which in fact is quite rare,I just do shrug it off and go looking for another game to start.

Lizzie you are right it has nothing at stake but winning.  However alt shot games take a lot longer to play than stroke play and Blitz.  I don't really mind if someone drops out of Blitz, I can finish as I please and same with stroke play.  When you drop out of alt shot you have wasted the time of 3 other people.

My suggestion to WGT would be to penalize people who quit.  We know you can't ban them from playing, that would cost WGT revenue so why not penalize them points.  In the game today everyone wants to move to the the next tier so they can buy equipment or whatever.  Hit the people who quit with a 5,000 point or 10,000 point penalty.  If you get booted by your ISP or power you just have to accept that happens to everyone once in a while however if you constantly disrupt other games then prepare to lose your ranking points.
