Crap, sorry, my comments were somehow inserted in the wrong place,  the italized wording is mine, the the ops.  Starts with theory or fact.   Sorry edgey.

Not quite sure if you are asking is the lower participation of players theory or fact, so I will respond this way. I can only talk about my club, we are scoring less due to lower participation. In theory (your word) it would normally mean that we would end up lower down the league table, however even with less players with lower scores we are holding our own, my question why is that, we should if everything is the same be falling away but we are not. That is the fact of the matter.

So it must be because of two things lower scoring by everyone and  or less participation I can not think of any other reason.

Less participation, I would say, in theory, most would thrive to get better.  Alas alot of people get tired of the garbage.  Just take one week and read the forums daily, omg complaints run rampant.  So when u get a big enough headache, u don't beat ur head against a wall as much. There are several members on here, if you look at their scoring history, you can see where they used to play alot of ranked rounds daily etc. But of late maybe just a few. (I summizing to just keep the daily xps going) . I love playing this game, but have found myself playing less, for that very reason.

Well WGT have certainly laid their stall out, 30mph  cross winds means more ball hits and Out Of Bounds, sad and very transparent guys.

I have found that we have less people playing as the clashes get more difficult. I also note that apart from the top few clubs that scoring is well down.

With a lower score in the last clash than ever before we achieved our best equal position and 5000 of the points were bonus points.

To me that seems to say that less people are playing therefore WGT we are not using up your balls, so what will you do, well most likely you believe that making it harder will use up more ball, I can assure you it wont, it will mean less pepole will play

Just a quick question does anybody have a list of the golf clubs that WGT have used for the clashes over the past few months.

I totally agree.  I would have thought that since WGT is a business and wants to make money, that they would have easily figured out what 99% of the players here already know.....

    1)  Only about 1 in 10,000 players actually like to play in hurricane conditions with 30 mph winds (and that is probably being generous).  Less than 50% of players on here like playing with moderate 15-20 mph winds.  Combine that with championship greens and you will lose even more participation.  Some players just moved up in tiers recently and don't want their scoring average to go sky high.  Most of us that the scoring average concern doesn't apply to right now simply don't have any fun playing with those conditions.  And that is especially true when one is speed playing (which many do in a Clash).

    2)  I rarely played in Clashes in my previous CC, because we were a small  CC and nobody cared about it (this wasn't one of our values or distinctions).  When I joined The Georgian in January, it was obvious that their dominance in xp and Clashes was a big value for them.  And so I got involved in both.  But has WGT noticed the crazy drop off in participation when they set up those awful playing conditions for ALL CC's?  No, obviously not, because we have had three weeks in a row with the worst of conditions.  Look at the total numbers and involvement, WGT.  Please.

    3)  In my 10 Clashes with The Georgian (during which I have personally gotten more than 85,000 points without superpasses), there has been NOT ONE Clash with low wind!  Duh!  Doesn't WGT know that the vast majority of people on this site prefer that?   And especially when they are playing a bunch of hours in a row and prefer something a little more mindless?   If you want to mix it up, why don't you ever have Clashes with low winds and fast greens, for example?

    4)  Finally, it's ridiculous that the course selection remains random.  Why do we have to play the same 9 holes again after 4 or 8 hours on the same course?  I've played some Clashes this year where we got the same course 5 out of 6 individual Clashes.  Who in the world wants to do that?   Can't WGT set it up so that Clashes 1-11 over the two day period were all set up on 11 different 9 hole venues?   And that way, they don't have CC's complaining that they got a much less favorable draw of venues than another CC.

Hoping that someone at WGT reads this and understands,

    ~Nancy

Our club realised that clashing is a waste of time and money, but not before chasing the Georgians for a few months in a futile effort to win 1 clash, no matter how hard we tried or threw at the clash they were always just out of reach, we beat them h2h every time no problem but for some reason conditions never seemed in our favour throughout the clash, just when we were ahead we had windy chambers bay while they got par 5's, Random/luck whatever doesn't really matter the clash is just a cash cow and not a true indication of players or cc members abilities.

Happy to say the club is a much more relaxed, fun and friendly place to be since clashing is no longer a club goal.

When we made the decision to stop clashing we lost quite a few good players who were not happy with the clubs new direction, but everyone can now afford to splash out on balls and clubs rather then wasting credits on passes, we still seem to get similar prizes from the  clash whether we come in 4th or 40th. even  2nd or 3rd place s rubbish wgt is generous enough to reward the whole club 6 or 12 balls to share between your members lol.

Well good luck anyone attempting to prise gold putter no49 from the Georgians clutches,
