With absolutely everyone's averages way lower than they really should be how about averages being calculated based on your last 500 games rather than your best 500 games

    Just a thought.

Why? What issue or problem is at stake that this solution would solve?

Or how about removing saturation from the game . Every round played should affect the average . As it now stands once saturation is reached the only way an average can go is down . So the average should flucuate with every round posted so the average shown would be more reflective of the true average .

    Two points.

First, it would depend on the player finishing the round. A player could still keep his or her average low by not finishing rounds that would have a deleterious effect.

Second, in order to have a more "true average," the issue of playing from non-default tees would need to be addressed.

In other words, there are too many variables at play. And without addressing all of them, it's somewhat pointless to simply address the variable of saturation or which of the rounds one is including (i.e. last 500 vs. best 500 or whatever the number happens to be for the tier the player is at).

IMO opinion just ignore averages mostly.  The system is not great, but neither are any of the reasonably expected alternatives.

Red tee V real tee, real low wind Beth F9 multiplay V single play RR conditions.......................As it is most good players now sooner or later end up with a ridiculously low average in the end same as red tees (saturation).

Some will always find a way through it if they want a badge they can't play to like the badge says...................Heck most of us have badges we can't play to mostly:)

All that said if the new tier ever did happen please keep red tee larks out of it (as far as average score goes) at least.

    Two thoughts against it:

    - sandbagging.

Players used to ride up and down through  the tiers before WGT changed the system in 2010 (I heard), and this wouldn't be different now,

    - revenue.

Through the inevitably hardening conditions of play, players are forced to spend on better and more expensive equipment. Without the company's profit, we'd not have a game!
