    Hi all,

I'm getting close to levels where I can finally upgrade my clubs to improve my game.

At Lev 57 I'm playing with Rapture V2 (improved them from amateur to master set) but I need more distance with driver and long irons. Reading many posts here helped me a lot figuring out what my choice could be, and I'd like you to help me stick with the best choice.

Meter speed.. well I'm playing with Tour SD balls cause I wanted to have "no feel" with rapture knowing that i will have to go to faster meter clubs.. so I thought using Callaway or the new Srixon with half meter speed clubs will help me in the "passage". And then I'll have all clubs with same meter speed (wedges included)

That said.. about irons I think I understood from many of you that G10s (Lev 59) are probably the best (vs TM Lev 63) so that will be my choice.

For the driver, I'm still thinking if G10 (Lev 58) or R9 (Lev 62). The med trajectory of R9 is not an issue i think, as driving needs just distance and a bit forgiveness to land on the fairway.. that combined with 5 yds more makes my choice bend over the R9 (but I need to wait til Lev 62).

Same thoughts about wood.. the little more forgiveness that R9 seems to have would make it the best choice for me.  I'm planning to give up hybrid to put in my bag a 3rd wedge. With a long driver and wood, 210 yds 3 iron shouldn't leave gaps in the long distance shots.

Please give me your votes on the possible choices..

    1) D(G10) W(G10) I(G10) -> Could have it soon, scared about driver forgiveness

    2) D(R9) W(G10) I(G10) -> Could get irons soon and stick with rapture driver..

    3) D(R9) W(R9) I(G10) -> Could get irons soon and stick with rapture driver..

    4) D(R9) W(R9) I(TM L.63) -> Gotta wait Lev 62

    5) D(G10) W(G10) I(TM L.63) -> Could get driver soon and stick with rapture irons..

Or if you have other combinations or suggestions.. I'd appreciate that ;-)

I plan on sticking with that bag until I'll be Legend (if ever...)

    Thanx!

I think too many people are concerned about Driver "forgiveness/precision", heck, unless you use it for a long par 3 (maybe once in a blue moon) so what if you're a few yards off line on a tee shot?

I use the G10's and mainly Tour SD balls, so I miss the ding quite often, but unless I'm using full backspin, it rarely gets me in trouble.

I'll still play my G10's (driver, 3 wood, irons) as long as I can when I move up to Legend, then see what I need to change.

BTW, all your above choices will be fine.

EDIT:  The only difference between Master and TM is the green speeds, the higher trajectory of new iron is a big plus to hold the shot on Tourney greens.

The fancy G10 irons are superb at that level and beyond. The way I see it, Rapture are par clubs and the G10's are birdie clubs. Thanks to precision and high trajectory you should hit it close enough most times for an LBO (legitimate birdie opportunity).

My choice would be thge L62 R9 driver and 3W and G10 irons.  That will probably keep you going until you turn legend.  Although by then you'll likely have Burner 2 irons and the L80 R9.

The i15 irons are also great if you can handle the meter, a definite step up from the G10 in my opinion.

Your club choices listed & replys make sense, BUT you have to get the ball in the hole.

Looking at your scores it seems that you are having some short game problems. My advice is to play more practice rounds and concentrate on chipping & putting. A great short game will easily lower your scores down to the 29-32 range per nine holes.
