I'm hoping someone more tech-minded than me can help with this!

So, I have created a Google Sheet spreadsheet for our club with a page for each competition throughout the season and so on. I've made it accessible online for the club members so they can view it, but what I was also hoping to do was embed one of the pages (the currently running club competition) in a forum post so that the current positions etc will update on the forum automatically when I update the sheet online.

I know it's possible to embed a sheet in a web page but when I try it in our forum I get:

(IP addresses xx'd out by me).

Is this because a forum page is different to a web page and doesn't allow embedding like this, or am I doing something (else) wrong?

    Try reading this:

    http://www.bdnyc.org/2012/08/how-to-embed-a-live-google-docs-spreadsheet-into-a-webpage/

Edit: I tried putting in a blank one and getting the same error message.

The sheet shows up fine but when you hit post is when you get the message.

Yup, a few of us having been getting that access denied pop-up when trying to post perfectly legitimate stuff. Another WGT update that doesn't work properly, *sigh*.

Thanks mnshiner and Scott for taking the time to reply.

Yes, I had got as far as seeing the sheet successfully embedded in the preview window and I managed to resize it too, but clicking update to actually post it brought up their error/warning message.

    So close!

Ah well, and it was a nice dream, lol.
