Ok, so a couple of hours maybe - but its happening more and more that players are signing up and waiting till the tournament end to play, its really infuriating, today the ready go's are all bethpage or oakmont because of this

St Andrews back - 49 scores 5 hours left

    Kiawah 18 49 scores - 5 hours left

Kiawah back - 49 scores 3 hours left

St Andrews 18 48 scores 3 hours left

St Andrews front 48 scores 34 mins left

Kiawah front 49 scores 27 mins left

Whats annoying about this - until the 50 players have placed a score the tourney won't appear to play again, today, Saturday a non work day for most these tourney have been closed out all day.

Don't these people realise if they don't sign up and let players who will play sign up, when they want to play later the tourney will re appear?

Also - WGT, once a tourney is filled you can see the scores, so why can't you put the tourney on again instead of waiting for the 12 hours to elapse?

I've signed up at night before, just to make sure I could get in it, then in the morning play the RG.

I've also signed up when there were just a few spots left, thinking I'd get back in a few hours and play, but then somethings come up and i missed out.

Then, for sure there are those who wait to see as many posted scores as possible, some of these people probably have the ability (due close Tees and big clubs) to post a 27, but may not was to draw too much attention to themselves and post say a 30 to just double up on their credits.

Personally I'd like to see another tourney started when filled too and would like to see WGT NOT show the scores until all have posted.

Yep, I know there are times when you can't get back to play, and sorry if my rant seemed personal, I'm just here to have fun and shoot the best I can, which is up and down good and bad rounds but I do like the ready go's.  And when they are closed out all day it is a bit maddening.

I like your idea though, once filled don't show the scores and start another - WGT any chance?

Personally i enter the ready-go's and then play them straight away but i know alot of people enter all 14 of them or most of them in the morning and then play them through out the day when ever they can spare the time.

If all that is left for you to play is bethpage or oakmont then why not give them a try. They are a little harder than the other ready go courses but then its the same for everyone. I've shot 33 on those 2 courses in ready-go's and still made a few credits back.

I agree you shouldn't be able to see the scores until all scores are posted though. Some players do hold back to see what they gotta shoot to get credits back

They're only closed to the 50 people who've entered them.

Once 50 people sign up for a particular "instance" of a ready-go, it gets closed (to new entries) and scores are visible.

At that point a new "instance" (WGT term, not mine btw) of that ready-go is available for entry by any players not entered in the closed version above.

Once all 50 scores are posted, or the time limit expires, a ready-go is paid out and closed.

You'll always be able to enter a particular ready-go (STA back 9, for instance), provided you aren't entered in an open version of that same ready-go (open = one which hasn't been paid out yet).

    Jerm,

I believe the OP knows that, and for the reason you copied above, is what annoys him/us.

I think to sum it up...

    We'd like:

Scores not visible until all players have posted or WD'ed

Another RG open and allow for play (for those who entered the current RG), once all players have that RG filled.

Fair enough.  From re-reading the OP, I'd have to agree.  My first impression was that Leigh thought it was closed to everyone on WGT. Second impression? Same as yours.

I agree that scores shouldn't be shown before they're all posted. Always thought that was a bit strange to do that.

And the basic theory in allowing entry to another RG once the current one is filled is valid....however I think in practice it may evolve into players having multiple "copies" of the same ready-go available to them. (ie: 3 unplayed Kiawah front 9's -- all filled though)

Or did you mean that any player who has posted a score in a filled ready-go can enter another of the same ready-go?  And those that haven't posted yet, can't?  Because that sounds totally reasonable, and eliminates the potential multiple-copy issue.

Well J, thing is, multicopy wouldn't prevail, you col;d enter a RG on SA F9 say, and have all nine holes downwind, enter another, they'd all be against you...so the wind is random (well...not random enough for  me lol) so most likely no two RG's would play the same, for the same player.

And what I'm saying, is once a player has entered a RG, and that RG is filled with 50:

No score should be posted until all 50 scores are posted

After the 50 slots are filled, a new RG on the same course (to heck with conditions) should be opened back up.

I wasn't even thinking about conditions.  I think it's the terms we're (I'm?) using that may be causing the confusion.

I'm fine with opening a new RG on the same course once the 50 slots are filled....however I'd only open it up to any players who've already posted scores in the original.

Other than that, I in agreement with you.
