Interesting how the first few levels were quick, but level 9 takes 500 points. And getting there is at best a few points at a time.
A set of 5 items will take more than 4,000 games, since you can’t pick where the points go.
It doesn’t take that long. Yes it does take some time but if you’re winning you will receive 5-50 points per item depending on which type of box you win. And you will win 2-3 different items in each box so you could get 2-3 of the items you are looking for in one box too.
Wait until you’re trying to get to level 10 ... it’s 1000 points per item.

Turf Wars I don't get at all. I see some players scoring hundreds of thousands of points. How do they do that?
Turf Wars are played using Coin Room matches. The points that players have during a turf war are the number of coins they have won in those Coin Room matches. If you’re playing 100-500 coin games then you will have very low scores but if you are playing 20,000-100,000 or even the 1-2 million coin games you will have much higher scores.
