  i've just bought some of these thinking they'd be the perfect gap between my current GI-SD balls and the callaways i'm saving for (hopefully) legend.

  but they're not at all what i was expecting at all.

  distance - less than the GI-SD, a good 7/9 yards on a drive.

  feel / meter speed - couldn't actually tell the difference to the SD, honestly. certainly nowhere as slow as the (same dot rating) G-12 S balls i've got as spares.

  spin - no difference to GI-SD

  durabilty - for a ball i was expecting to last maybe 50% more than the SD, i don't reckon i'll get 3 rounds from it. used to getting 2 rounds from the SD.

  in summary, it's not seeming to be the ball the dot ratings give it. gave up with backspin on the ball just to get it to go the length of the SD and that still didn't get it up.

  more confused than feeling ripped off, given the premium over the SD ball.

  any thoughts on this ball guys and girls? should i stick with it? because i'm struggling to see the benefit right now :(

  I use the other ones (200 cr) regularly, I posted something in the Srixon thread, pretty sure I got 5 9 hole rounds and had a few hits left over.  All these rounds were in a good RG morning with only missing 2 or 3 greens total.

   

  Regarding speed and spin (based on the 200cr balls) I noticed no difference in speed (feel) with my G10's, but with full BS and full TS there is a difference (positive)

  Distance with the 200cr balls is noticed, about 4-5 yards off the tee, coupled with a yard or two with irons, and usually means I can play one club less for an approach, which from the back tees is a good plus.

  Try to 200 credit ones, tweak BS/TS a little at a time.

  All said though, from TM tees I would stick to the GI SD balls, less expensive in the long run and you have a lot less long/longer iron shots to make.

  i think you're dead right, i wasn't really after more distance or spin just a slower meter and the ball to last quite a bit longer. i've got neither really.

  reading that thread it seems most find it shorter than the SD and folks are getting approx 2 1/2 rounds from the ball? that's rubbish when it's a whole dot and a half more than the SD that seems to last 2 rounds itself.

  a bit of miss-selling by WGT on this ball, the distance and feel should be 1 1/2 dots and durability 2 dots at most.

  the more i think about it, the less impressed i am with this purchase :(

  Yes, folks are probably talking 18 hole rounds so the 2.5 rounds is the same as what I mentioned above.
